Lemons 2

Lemons 2 presents a still-life study of lemons set against old stripes. The contrast between the rounded fruit and the linear background gives the composition a clear graphic structure. Vivid colour brings energy to the subject, while impasto and palette-knife marks add variation across the painted surface. The familiar fruit is treated as a study in colour, pattern and texture rather than as a purely literal depiction. The striped setting gives the work a distinctive visual rhythm, allowing the lemons to stand out with brightness and clarity.
